Going in to today, I am back focusing on going through the schools that Coach Krepps has no recruiting information on. Again, I have my own little process that I go through when I start to look up information. The first thing I do is I go to ScoutingOhio.com and input the parameters in which I am searching to see if there are any players listed for the school I am looking up. If there is I will then cross reference this list with Front Rush to make sure they are not listed in our recruiting database. Then I will write down all the player’s information on an information sheet. On this sheet, I will list their names, phone numbers, height, weight, positions played, GPA, ACT score and then if they have a ranking. If there is not ranking, I will go to their Hudl page and watch any film that they have and give them a ranking and take some notes that the Coach will need.
However, if a school does not have any players listed in Scouting Ohio, I need to find an All-Conference team from the previous year to see if the school had any juniors at the time make the All-Conference team. This is what is usually the most time-consuming job. I must search newspaper articles to see if anyone listed the All-Conference team and then make up a document to save it to. The easiest is when the conference has a website and keeps this information stored on there. However, if I fail to find it, I will email several Athletic Directors to see if they have a copy that they can send me. Most of the AD’s are very helpful and will forward me a copy or even email someone else to get a copy for me. This is what I will be focusing on for the next couple of days while I work on Coach Krepps recruiting profile.
One thing I want to add from today is something that had happened at lastnights JV football game. Coach Paul shared this with me while I was in his office and thought that it would be cool to share. This video shows what happens when the officials forget to bring coins with them to the coin toss.
